Head of the Nuclear Spectrometry Laboratory at the Center for Environmental Radioactivity and
Nuclear Dating, within the Interdisciplinary Research Institute in Bio-Nano-Sciences of Babes-
Bolyai University, Cluj-Napoca. Begy’s areas of interest include: Radionulide measurements by
gamma spectrometry, Measurements of natural and artificial radionuclides emitting alpha
radiation, Radiochemistry applied to environmental samples, Dating using Pb-210 radionuclide,
and Radon research.
